If there was ever a tough match-up for a star quarterback then the Chicago Bears’ defense is definitely it. Led by Leonard Floyd Chicago was able to sack Aaron Rodgers 5 different times in a tightly contested NFC North battle.
Despite going on the road and dealing with one of most feared pass rushes in football Aaron Rodgers was still much better than Mitchell Trubisky. When we’re talking about a future Hall of Fame quarterback 203 yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interceptions isn’t going to blow anyone away. However that one touchdown pass was the difference between winning and losing the game. You could also see it on almost every passing down throughout the night. Even when Rodgers‘ completions would come up short of the first down marker and Green Bay was forced to punt. The ball just looked better coming out of his hands than Trubisky’s. It got so bad that Chicago’s fans began to boo their own offense because watching Rodgers take vertical shots down the field made them recognize their own limitations. Defense wins championships but so do great quarterbacks and tonight Aaron Rogers showed up the Chicago Bears. The first hurdle is down and now the Packers have to get another one next week against the Minnesota Vikings.
