The Pittsburgh Steelers will play their first playoff game this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Pittsburgh actually lost to Jacksonville in week 5 of the regular season but expect the Steelers to overpower the upstart Jaguars in the AFC divisional round. Ben Roethlisberger has a boatload of weapons around him which put him in a much more favorable position than Blake Bortles. Le’Veon Bell is easily one of the best running backs in the league and if Antonio Brown is even a shade of the player he was in the regular season life will be good for the Steel City. Brown is recovering from a calf injury but the early indication is he’ll be ready to go once kick-off rolls around. As good as Jacksonville is that game last week against the Bills proved that they’re not ready to take the next step yet. Ben Roethlisberger on the other hand is probably in his final season of play and you have to believe he wants to go out with a bang. If the veteran signal caller can muster up everything he has into one final push for a Vince Lombardi Trophy he might have enough left in the tank to get the job done. This is one of the most impressive Steeler teams we’ve seen in a while and there’s no excuse if they come up short this year. The front office did a great job of drafting talented young players like JuJu Smith-Schuster and T.J Watt. Not only that but Cam Heyward is healthy on defense and Roethlisberger has to understand that all the odds are tilted in his favor. Even the Steelers’ archrival the New England Patriots have controversy surrounding their program right now so all signs points to this being Pittsburgh’s best opportunity to win it all.
