Is Ja’Marr Chase the best rookie wide receiver since Randy Moss?

Author: Jon Kuzma

When Joe Burrow told the Bengals he’d rather have Ja’Marr Chase over Penei Sewell. There were a lot of people that didn’t agree with that decision. But it’s clear that Burrow knew something that we all didn’t. Ja’Marr Chase has an it-factor to him. That makes him the most dangerous rookie wide receiver we’ve seen since Randy Moss. Odell Beckham Jr. was great as a rookie too. But Chase has been better than Beckham Jr. was during his rookie campaign. Just go back and look at what he did to the Chiefs. The Bengals trailed 14-0 in that game. Then Chase caught a pass, broke Nick Bolton’s ankles, and went 72 yards for a touchdown. Chase followed that up by catching two more touchdowns. He made sideline catches, he moved the chains, Chase also made a couple of crucial catches on the game winning drive. This was a dominant performance and it felt like you were watching a generational talent like Randy Moss. The Bengals beat the Chiefs too. So it was just a great day all around for Ja’Marr Chase.
