The Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears met up in London for a week 5 clash and Chicago was heavily favored to win this game. We all know how much talent they have on the defensive side of the ball but they were no match for Josh Jacobs and the Raiders offense.
Jacobs carved up the Bears by rushing for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. It seemed like the rookie went for at least 5 yards every time he touched the ball and Oakland bullied a group of defenders who are usually the ones imposing their will. Make no mistake about it this was a big win for both Jacobs and the Raiders. For Jacobs it was the best performance of his career and he gave us a glimpse of what he’s going to be. And for the team as a whole it’s a milestone moment because it was Jon Gruden’s first signature win. Matt Nagy had every advantage he could ask for but Gruden’s savvy prevailed. Suddenly this team is 3-2 and way ahead of where they were a year ago. Not to mention they’re more aware of the style of play that suits them best. Which means you can expect to see plenty more of Josh Jacobs moving forward. If it’s not broke don’t fix it. Just feed the young ball carrier and let him take this team to new heights.
