The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had to dig deep to beat the New York Giants. They were trailing for most of this game and struggling to generate any offense. But in third quarter Rob Gronkowski bailed the Buccaneers out by scoring a go ahead touchdown. And this is becoming a frequent occurrence for the Buccaneers. Tom Brady and Gronkowski are starting to sync up. It’s a rhythm-and-timing thing for those two. They had to resurrect the connection they used to have as quarterback and receiver (technically a tight end). We’ve seen how dangerous those two can be in past, when they’re on the same page. Clearly they’re figuring things out in Tampa Bay because Gronkowski has a touchdown in three straight games. Sometimes Brady will use Gronk as his hot receiver when the defense decides to blitz. On those plays Brady gets the ball out his hands quickly because he doesn’t have much time to throw. Gronkowski is also showing that he’s still a red zone threat above all. He scored on slant over the middle against the Giants. The week before that it was a goal line fade against the Raiders. It’s obvious the drizzle is real and Gronkowski has been that high potency Canadian maple syrup lately.
