In football defense is all about reacting. Defenders must take their read step and then pursue the ball carrier in whatever direction the play is flowing. Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Devin Bush is already showing heā€™s a natural in this aspect of the game.

Not only are Bushā€™s instincts amazing, he can close in on ball carriers very quickly. Having Bush right in the middle of this defense makes the Steelers so much tougher on that side of the ball. By taking away the inside running game Pittsburgh can dictate the terms against their opponents and force teams to alter their game plan. By eliminating one the most important parts of the field it definitely plays into the Steelers favor and thatā€™s what Bush can do for this group. Heā€™s also a defender who can intimidate his opponents and cause receivers to become timid when they go over the middle. Add in the fact that Bush has a motor that never shuts off and you can see why GM Kevin Colbert traded up to get the former Wolverine. Itā€™s because this one addition will make a drastic impact right away. Which might be enough to get this franchise back to the playoffs.
