The San Francisco 49ers are up in the air when it comes to re-signing Running Back Carlos Hyde and other teams should keep an eye on the situation. Hyde is a dynamic player that can add a spark to any franchise looking to bolster their rushing attack. When you look at organizations like Detroit, Cincinnati, Arizona, and Miami it becomes clear that they would all benefit greatly from adding Hyde because they’re all kind of desperate at the moment. Establishing a strong running game makes every other phase of the game easier because of factors like time of possession and limiting the opposing team’s scoring opportunities. Carlos Hyde racked up 938 yards and 8 touchdowns so we’re talking about a player who is right on the cusp of being elite. Not only that, Hyde’s play has improved the last couple of seasons so he is trending in the right direction and is definitely worth the risk for someone who is depleted of ball carriers. When you actually plug in the tape and watch this guy play it becomes obvious that he is a very explosive player. Beyond that Hyde is extremely shifty, he does a great job of running to daylight which comes from having exceptional vision. Even though Carlos Hyde has yet to crack the 1,000 yards rushing mark in his career it feels like he will do so eventually and there’s still enough production there to be a solid addition. It’s surprising San Francisco isn’t more optimistic about retaining the 26 year old. It feels like that could comeback to haunt the 49ers down the road but the NFL is a business and sometimes tough choices have to be made. Don’t be surprised though when Hyde ends up making a splash in 2018 regardless of who he plays for. Carlos Hyde’s abilities are better than most players at his position.
