There’s been some very prominent CFL stands outs that have made the jump to the NFL after achieving success up North. Warren Moon, Doug Flutie, and Cameron Wake all did it and now Grey Cup MVP DeVier Posey will make the transition back to the USA as a member of the Baltimore Ravens. Posey had a very impressive 2017 season abroad recording 744 receiving yards and 7 touchdown receptions. Not only that but in the CFL championship game (Grey Cup) Posey hauled in 7 passes for 175 yards and 1 touchdown. By putting together such a solid performance on the big stage Posey essentially punched his ticket back to the NFL. Now in Baltimore the Ravens will look to utilize Posey’s abilities in their aerial attack. Joe Flacco needs a spark plug on the offensive side of the ball and John Harbaugh is hoping he found a diamond in the rough with the former Toronto Argonaut. It should be noted that Posey played in the NFL back in 2012-2014 with the Houston Texans. That’s stint didn’t work out but give credit to this guy for going to Canada and doing everything he could to refine his skill set. DeVier Posey’s persistence has suited him well and really that is the driving force behind his second chance in big the leagues. It feels like Posey will be much better adjusted for NFL success this time around and that’s because he has much more experience. Every rep in practice and every play in the games serve as a development opportunity for the players in this sport. Posey kept his professional career alive by understanding he had to keep playing in order to keep his game evolving. With Baltimore’s leading Receiver Mike Wallace slated to be a free agent it will be interesting if Devier Posey can go to the Ravens and pick up the slack? Keep in mind this team didn’t have a single 1,000 yard receiver in 2017.
