When the Kansas City Chiefs took the only running back in the first round. They knew Clyde Edwards-Helaire could make them even better. And that turned out to be true in the Kansas City Chiefs 34-20 victory over the Houston Texans. Edwards-Helaire was electric in that match-up. He stepped into the starting lineup as a rookie and rushed for 138 yards and 1 touchdown. It almost felt like what we saw from Kareem Hunt when he was in Kansas City. Clearly Andy Reid’s offense is conducive for the running back position. Because Edwards-Helaire was chopping away at the Houston Texans defense all night long. On one play in particular Edwards-Helaire completely juked Justin Reid out of his cleats and finished that run in the end zone for six points. It only took one game for Clyde Edwards-Helaire to prove he’s one of the better running backs in the league. If this is an indication of what’s to come. Then it’s scary how good the Chiefs can be.
