Just like that the San Francisco 49ers have some problems. The bad news started yesterday when Deebo Samuel broke his foot. That was a devastating blow for the team because Samuel was outstanding as a rookie. Kyle Shanahan had high hopes for Samuel in his second season. Because he set the bar so high a year ago. Now Samuel’s progress will be hindered since he’ll be out of action for three or four months. What that means is he’ll have to spend the majority of his time recovering. While everyone else will be training and getting better. Then when Samuel returns he’ll need to get back up to speed. It can take a month or two before he’s in game shape. Therefore the second year receiver faces some challenges ahead of him. But at least we know he’s dedicated to his craft. And sometimes that laser focus can create miracles. However Samuel wasn’t the only 49ers receiver to get injured. Richie James Jr. also broke his wrist. So Shanahan will have his work cut out for him. He’ll have to find a way to guide this team through both of these setbacks.
