Philip Rivers was named the next head coach at St. Michael Catholic High School in Alabama. He plans on taking that job after he retires from the NFL. But Rivers might have to put St. Michael on hold. The Indianapolis Colts are back and it’s because Rivers is reinvigorated. Suddenly the loss of Andrew Luck doesn’t hurt as bad anymore. Because Rivers can execute Frank Reich’s game plan at an optimal level. It got to the point where the Tennessee Titans were on their heels. And the Titans are known for their defense. It’s because Reich understands how to call a football game and that’s what Rivers has been missing. He had great playmakers in Los Angeles. But Reich is an offensive mastermind. The collaboration of Reich and Rivers has unlocked this team’s offensive creativity. After beating Tennessee 34-17 they’re sitting atop the AFC South. They’ll have to play the Titans again in two weeks. So this division is coming down to the wire. But if Rivers stays hot you have to like Indianapolis’ odds. It also makes you wonder how much longer Rivers will play for? Because there’s no way he can walk away from this. St. Michael high school will have to wait.
