Cooper Kupp was a great pick for the Los Angeles Rams in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Kupp was a star at Eastern Washington University winning the Big Sky Player of the Year award twice. The Rams thought those talents would fit well in their receiver corps and Kupp has definitely exceeded expectations. Most rookies have an adjustment period once they turn pro but Kupp hit the ground running. A lot of that was due to the fact that Jared Goff and Kupp have excellent rapport which was on display all season. Anytime Goff was in a panic he seemed to find Kupp downfield as a security blanket. If these two players were this good in their first year of working together you can only imagine what’s going to happen in year two? Kupp recorded 869 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns last season and it’s very possible those stats could significantly improve with another training camp under their belts. Therefore Cooper Kupp has to be projected to be over a 1,000 receiving yards in 2018 and he could be in the 8 or 9 touchdowns ball park. There’s players who have been in the NFL for a decade and don’t get to that level of output. Los Angeles has to be upbeat about Kupp’s potential and when you also factor in that Goff is going to be much more experienced in his third season. It becomes apparent that Goff and Kupp could end up being one of the best quarterback and receiver tandems in the entire league. Usually it takes a long time to get that point but LA has a few naturals on the offensive side of the ball. Which is ultimately one of the reasons this team is going to have a shot at winning a Super Bowl when it comes playoff time. The Rams might have just returned to California but the fans out West have to be excited about what’s to come.
