The Dallas Cowboys seem like they’re trying to get a deal done with Dak Prescott before the July 15th deadline. Which is actually a smart decision because the Cowboys offense is better than it’s been in the past. Prescott is surrounded with talent and that means his production could soar. So Dallas might want to get out in front of that and try to get a cheaper deal for Prescott while they can. If a new contract isn’t hashed out by tomorrow then the two sides will have to wait until January to negotiate. Therefore Jerry Jones has a big decision to make. Does he bet on an up year from his quarterback and try to re-sign Prescott now? Or should he stay put and let Prescott play on the franchise tag? We know the second option probably won’t sit well with Dak Prescott and that could hurt the two side’s talks later on. Either way the clock is ticking and we’ll find out what happens soon.
