We’ve been hearing about Dak Prescott’s contract negotiations for a while now and nothing has materialized at the moment. Yet what we saw on the field Sunday will go a long way when it comes to Prescott’s value. There’s no better way to earn leverage than going out there and lighting it up.
The 4th year signal caller did exactly that by throwing for 405 yards and 4 touchdowns. It was the second time in his career that he’s cracked the 400 yards mark and both games were in the past two years. So clearly Prescott is trending in the right direction and at least you know he’s improving. For a while it seemed like his arm talent was second rate at best but he’s starting to shed that negative label. Make no mistake about it to come out and beat the Giants in such a stunning fashion is a promising first step to the season. If Dak Prescott can continue to mature as a quarterback throughout the next fifteen games then it’s scary how good he can be when the playoffs roll around. Collectively there’s plenty of talent on this roster and it’s bringing out the best of Prescott. It’s not like he was a game manager against New York. Prescott was an absolute star and the biggest one on the field for either team production-wise. This might not be a fluke either we could be witnessing an evolution of the Cowboys quarterback.
