The NFC was winning the 2018 Pro Bowl for most of the game but that’s when Derek Carr took over with time winding down. Carr threw a late touchdown pass to Delanie Walker to score the game winning touchdown. Down the stretch of this contest it was obvious that Carr was a little bit better than the NFC’s Jared Goff. While Goff was settling for checkdowns, Carr was converting big time throws into points. Ultimately that ended up being the difference maker in the match up. Which resulted in the AFC earning the winner’s payout of $64,000 dollars. Alex Smith also had some bright spots for the American Football Conference he ended up throwing for 131 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. LeSean McCoy punched in a rushing touchdown for the red side too. While Walker was the most impressive player for either team, the Titans tight end finished the day with 2 touchdown receptions. Drew Brees was also sharp during his limited time in the contest. Brees ended up throwing for 66 yards and 1 touchdown throw. Adam Thielen was the recipient of that 8 yard TD strike and really that was the biggest offensive moment that the NFC had. Von Miller recorded a game clinching fumble recovery in the final minutes of the 4th quarter. Miller recorded 3 tackles and 1 sack as well. Terrell Suggs continued to impress in his 7th Pro Bowl appearance he chalked up 7 tackles in the win. Deion Jones was the top guy for national side he contributed 6 tackles when things were all said and done. Patrick Peterson was the other big winner in the Pro Bowl even though his team lost Peterson grabbed 2 interceptions which will help add to his strong legacy. Despite there being limited contact in this annual all star bout it was a fun experience because it involved the most talented players on the planet. Give the Mike Tomlin led AFC credit for finding a way to pull out a win when the pressure was on. That’s why you play the game to the final whistle.
