With everyone voicing their frustrations with Matt Patricia. It’s easy to get caught up in Patricia’s failures and overlook just how bad Bob Quinn has been during his time with the Detroit Lions. Golden Tate, Darius Slay, and Quandre Diggs are three key players that could’ve helped Detroit get out of the mess they’re in right now. But Quinn doubled down on the Patriot way *cough, cough*-Lions way and sold high on three of his best athletes. And what did Detroit get in return for Tate, Slay, and Diggs? A handful of mid-to-late round picks that were no where near the worth of what that core group of players were to this roster. Quinn tried to be analytical and his strategy was to use a high volume of picks. The problem is he underestimated the importance of preserving his most talented employees / players. Those guys were the heart and soul of this team and once Quinn gutted everything. That’s when the Lions started to resemble the 0-16 team from 2008.
