Last year there was some talented quarterbacks selected in the draft. Kyler Murray went number one overall and eventually won the Rookie of the Year award. Daniel Jones and Dwayne Haskins were also taken in the first round and showed some good signs. But it was Drew Lock who showed all of them up with the best record (4-1). Obviously being a winner is something that we have to acknowledge about Lock. Denver has been trying to find a quarterback ever since Peyton Manning retired. For Lock to go into that situation and find a way to make it work. That says a lot about the kind of player he is. So you look at what makes this guy special and there’s a number of things that standout. He’s got enough arm strength to take the top off the defense with his throws up the sidelines. Then there’s his zip when it comes to hitting those seams over the middle. Lock is also a good athlete and he can get out on the edge and throw on the run if needed. When you also factor in he reads the defense and gets the ball out of his hands quickly. There’s just so many different strengths which make up Lock’s game. All of this helped unlock Noah Fant’s potential. And Lock is also getting the best out of Courtland Sutton. They say great players make everyone around them better. Which seems to be the case with Lock in Denver.
