Seattle Seahawks Safety Earl Thomas made some unusual comments last season when he told Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett to ā€œcome get me when the Seahawks kick me to the curb.ā€ Thomas is a Texas native and probably grew up dreaming about being a Dallas Cowboy but it doesnā€™t seem like Americaā€™s Team will have the cap space to get Thomas should he leave the Seahawks. A much more logical destination for Thomas would be the Houston Texans who are hovering around $58 million dollars in cap space at the moment. Even though Thomas still has one year left on his deal the 6x Pro Bowler has stated that ā€œmoney talksā€ if Seattle would like to keep him. It feels like Pete Carroll wants to get younger and keep his salary cap down so expect Thomas to be out of the state of Washington shortly. Thomas actually went to high school at West Orange-Stark which is less than two hours from Houston. The opportunity to play right in your own backyard is a compelling offer for a lot of athletes and ultimately that could be a realistic destination for arguably the leagueā€™s best safety. The Texans have a bright future with Deshaun Watson coming back from injury and leading the show. Why not load up in the secondary by adding Earl Thomas and do your best to put together a significant run? Earl Thomas will bring a lot of takeaways to Houston and he will also be a disruptive pass defender. All of those abilities are going to result in positive outcomes for Bill Oā€™Brienā€™s team and really this is a no brainer. Sign or trade for Earl Thomas and watch how much of an impact he brings to the back end of this franchiseā€™s defense. Nobody plays the pass better than the former Texas Longhorn.
