Most NFL analysts are high on the Atlanta Falcons right now and it’s easy to see why. They started to get their act together at the end of 2018 and they brought back Adrian Clayborn who was really good during his first stint in Georgia.
Then the Falcons made another splash by signing Grady Jarrett before Monday’s deadline which would’ve made the 26 year old defensive tackle play on the franchise tag. Instead Jarrett got a new 4 year $68M deal and that ensures he’ll be a part of this organization for a much longer time. Obviously that’s huge because Jarrett is tough as nails on the defensive line. Not only will morale be better because this contract got done. It should also motivate Jarrett play-wise due to the fact that his team took care of him. The last thing Atlanta wanted was a dark cloud hanging over this ball club with the season quickly approaching. Now it’s smooth sailing though and it’s always a good sign when there’s no distractions heading into training camp. Dan Quinn can be comfortable knowing that his team is all business and everyone is focused on the big picture. These type of moves can be the difference between sitting at home in January or making a run at the Super Bowl.
