When you watch George Kittle play it’s obvious that he’s moving much faster than most tight ends. That was easy to see against the Green Bay Packers because Kittle absolutely scorched the Packers defense. He racked up 129 yards and 1 touchdown before the night was over. At one point Kittle took the top off the defense by going deep for a 61-yard touchdown.
Those plays are possible because this guy has a 4.52 40-yard dash. Kyle Shanahan also plays a big role in his success because he knows how to scheme Kittle open. Whether it was the crossing routes over the middle or the corner routes near the sidelines. San Francisco uses play calls that cater to George Kittle’s strengths and it makes their offense much more dangerous. You can tell Kittle energizes his teammates and that’s why the 49ers beat Green Bay 37-8. There’s no doubt John Lynch and Shanahan have turned this franchise around and they’re legitimate Super Bowl contenders. At this point they could even be the favorites. The way they run the football and how good their defense is makes them a cut above everyone else. Having the most explosive tight end in football doesn’t hurt either.
