The Green Bay Packers hosted the Seattle Seahawks in Green Bay Wisconsin and if you like good defensive play this was your ideal match up. Only 2 touchdowns were scored in the entire game and it’s no coincidence the winning team (Packers) scored those TDs. Aaron Rodgers significantly outplayed Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson and this game was a perfect example of how much good quarterback play can uplift a team. Rodgers had 311 passing yards and 1 touchdowns pass while Wilson finished the day with 158 yards and no touchdowns. Rodgers has the ability to make throws from every angle and when you get into these tough defensive contests it takes a pure thrower to put points on the board. The Packers success hinges on Rodgers ability to continually elevate his game and fortunately for the fans known as the Cheeseheads it doesn’t look like their quarterback is slowing down anytime soon. Ty Montgomery also put together a decent performance for Green Bay’s running game, Montgomery racked up 1 rushing touchdown and 54 yards. The other touchdown in this game went to Jordy Nelson off a Rodgers pass, Nelson recorded 1 touchdown reception and 79 receiving yards. Seattle didn’t have any notable offensive performances Doug Baldwin had more yards than pretty much every other Seahawks player and he only had 63 yards. That tells you that Pete Carroll’s team is significantly under-producing when it comes to offensive output and Seattle will have to correct that as they head into week 2. On the defensive side of the ball there were a number of players from both teams who made big plays. Mike Daniels was pretty stellar for the Packers he put up 7 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Nick Perry also registered 3 tackles and 1.5 sacks. For the Seahawks Shaquill Griffin led the way with 10 tackles. Michael Bennett also continued his dominant ways he finished the day with 3 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Green Bay ended up winning the game 17-9 when it was all said and done and Pack Nation improves to 1-0 on the season.
