Imagine all of the weapons the Arizona Cardinals could’ve signed with the $20M they spent on Sam Bradford. That organization deserved a better effort from their front office:

The Arizona Cardinals have released Sam Bradford and that’s not surprising at all. Bradford lost all of his throw power and was reduced to a player who could only make short and intermediate throws. Ultimately this is an example of another quarterback who simply can’t do the things he could when he was younger. However Bradford still walks away with at least $15M guaranteed from his deal with Arizona and that brings his career earnings to over $120M. The problem with all of this is the Cardinals gave up so much for someone who didn’t even make it through half of the season as a starter. Imagine if the front office used those funds on another running back, a few offensive lineman, and a wide receiver. Josh Rosen would’ve came into a much better situation had that been the case and there was definitely some talent out there. Isaiah Crowell is playing for an annual salary of $4M dollars. Just stop and think about how much better this offense would be with both David Johnson and Crowell in the backfield? That acquisition would almost guarantee the Cardinals a better ranking than 32nd in the league rushing wise. On top of that this team could’ve brought in John Sullivan, LaAdrian Waddle, and Taylor Gabriel to improve the overall talent level on this roster. Those are all players who’d go on to make Arizona a better football team. With all of the deep passes that Christian Kirk and Rosen have connected on. There’s a good chance Gabriel would yield similar results. Plus those two offensive lineman are exactly what their offense needs to improve from a running and passing standpoint. Steve Keim took a swing on a big name free agent acquisition like Bradford and he wasn’t even good. Keim’s poor decision making cost this franchise a lot of wins because there was a real opportunity to land four key pieces and build a brighter future.

The Arizona Cardinals need a better effort from their front office. Signing Sam Bradford was a terrible decision.
