Is letting go of Xavien Howard the right move for the Dolphins?

Author: Jon Kuzma

Let’s just be honest. The Dolphins can’t trade Xavien Howard. This team is close to doing something big. They’re in win now mode. And that means they need Howard. Who cares if he’s unhappy. Howard already reported to camp. So Miami knows he’ll play. If the Dolphins are smart. They’ll ignore his trade request. Keep him for the year. Go to the playoffs and then see if he changes his mind a year from now? It’s a risk the Dolphins have to take. Because things are going in their favor right now. This team is about to turn the corner and head into one of the best chapters in franchise history. Why jeopardize that by putting a worse team on the field? Brian Flores can’t let that happen. He needs Howard to make sure Miami gets back on track.
