The Jaguars rushed for an impressive 141 yards per game last year and that was the number one ranked rushing offense in the entire NFL. Clearly the Jaguars have an offensive line upfront that are consistently opening holes. However Leonard Fournette came into this backfield and completely changed Jacksonville’s mentality. No player in football was faster with the ball in their hands than Fournette (22.05 miles per hour) and he is also a punishing downhill runner. It’s rare that you see a ball carrier that can do both of those things but Fournette is one of the rare talents that can run people over and take a run 80 yards to the house. With 1,040 yards and 9 touchdowns as a rookie it’s evident Fournette is a workhorse who can carry the entire load. The frustrating thing is there was actually some sports analysts who suggested Leonard Fournette isn’t the real deal. It’s hard to believe that because this guy checks out when you plug in the tape. We’ve already seen it happen in his first season ever so betting against the Jaguars second year running back seems like a foolish decision. The only concern about Fournette is sometimes he tends to get banged up, which might cause him to miss a few games due to injury. Make no mistake about it though Jacksonville nailed this pick and it’s a big reason why they’re a Super Bowl contender again. Knocking off the Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs was a step in the right direction. Now this team is playing for keeps and you better believe Leonard Fournette is going to get 20 touches a game to help Jacksonville impose their will on you. It’s scary too because the former LSU standout could be even better now that he knows he can dominate at the pro level. It’s pretty obvious that Fournette is only getting better from here on out.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had the best rushing offense in all of football. Leonard Fournette was at the forefront of that.
