There seems to be a narrative forming. Many NFL fans believe Jared Goff isn’t good enough to carry the torch for the Los Angeles Rams. But they couldn’t be further from the truth. When you look at what Goff has been able to accomplish it should blow you away. Goff was the number one overall pick back in 2016. He’s been to the Pro Bowl twice and led the Rams to one Super Bowl appearance. Most players will never accomplish that in their lifetime. So by saying Goff isn’t up to par is completely downplaying those achievements.
If Los Angeles regresses it’s because they had a max exodus. First the offensive line unraveled and then Todd Gurley departed. Obviously those losses will have a negative impact on Goff. But they would hurt any other quarterback in that situation as well. The same thing can be said for Sean McVay. You already know McVay and Goff will be in the crosshairs because this team is heading in the wrong direction. To be honest that’s more of a reflection of Les Snead’s poor decision making. The front office needs to find a way to get everything under control and stop the bleeding. However no one should point the finger at Jared Goff. He’s the only one who can keep this team afloat during these tough times. The game is played on the field and the one’s taking part in the action are the people who have to find a way to get the job done. Even if it’s an uphill battle due to poor management. It’s all on Goff from here on out.
