You can put it in the books. Zach Wilson will be the next Jets quarterback. He’ll be tasked. With reviving a bad New York team. That hasn’t done much. Over the past couple of years. But Joe Douglas went with Wilson. Because of his ability to improv on the fly. From a mechanics standpoint. A coach doesn’t want their QB to throw off his back foot. But that same coach would be frustrated. If his quarterback missed a fade-away throw with the game on the line. That’s what Wilson’s greatest strength is. He doesn’t need his feet under him. To get the ball off. And create a play for his team. So if you’re the Jets. With a mediocre offensive line. Wilson’s skill set might be a way to mask their problems. It’s clear that Douglas feels that way. Or he wouldn’t have traded away Sam Darnold. So you have to ask yourself. If this is the turning point for the Jets?
