Give the man some credit. Jimmy Garoppolo had every reason to fold. His team turned their back on him by drafting Trey Lance. Garoppolo also had torn ligaments in his thumb, Trent Williams wasn’t playing, and the 49ers were trailing 17-3 to the Rams at halftime. But Jimmy Garoppolo never quit. He refused to throw in the towel. And there’s not a 49ers fan out there that should be against Garoppolo. That guy just pushed through so much adversity to get the 49ers to the playoffs. And how can anybody hate on that? That drive Garoppolo had late in the fourth quarter was clutch. He kept his composure and found Jauan Jennings to tie things up. And then he had another good drive at the start of overtime. At some point you have to put some respect on that man’s name. Because those false narratives aren’t a true reflection of Garoppolo. Today he showed that he’s a true competitor.
