There’s just seven games left in the regular season. And it appears that Justin Herbert will go on to win the NFL’s Rookie of the Year award. He’s been better than Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa. Part of that is because of how physically gifted Herbert is. The league seems to be trending towards athletic quarterbacks. But Herbert is unique in the fact that he can have success throwing from the pocket or scrambling. So if he has to stand tall in shotgun formation like Ben Roethlisberger, that’s no problem for him. Herbert can also take off and beat you with his legs like Kyler Murray can. If we’re being perfectly honest Herbert has a chance to be better than Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, and Murray too. Because Herbert’s size means he’s something we haven’t seen before. We’ve seen tall quarterbacks with big arms like Joe Flacco. Yet none of them could take off like Herbert does. Josh Allen is the only one that’s close. But he’s not as skilled as Herbert. It took Allen three years to become what he is now. Herbert is doing it as a rookie.
