It’s so hard to keep anything under wrap these days. Whether it’s a movie script, Game of Thrones episodes, or the latest NFL MVP voting results one way or another that information makes it to the public. That’s why it’s not surprising at all when a league employee was photographed at Super Bowl week holding a Tom Brady acceptance speech for the Most Valuable Player achievement. Brady had a remarkable 2017 season throwing for 32 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions. That was good enough for a 102.8 passer rating and which ultimately helped the 40 year old Patriots’ signal caller beat out Todd Gurley for the best player of this past year. With the voting process happening after the season there’s no doubt a strong playoff run can help a candidate’s chances of winning MVP. The Rams and Gurley were bounced from the playoffs in the very first round, while the Patriots and Brady are now playing in the Super Bowl. Obviously that tipped the odds in the New England QBs favor and it’s just another milestone on Tom Brady’s prolific career. Whether it’s come from behind victories late in the fourth quarter or throwing for 50 touchdowns back in 2007. There’s nothing Brady hasn’t done on the football field and this is one of the most amazing careers we’ve seen in any sport, of any era. The NFL didn’t become a “passing league” until Tom Brady completely changed the landscape of the game. He achieved that feat with precise throws from the pocket and by being one of the most mentally tough competitors that’s ever lived. Don’t be surprised if Brady adds another Vince Lombardi Trophy to go with with his MVP award come Sunday. It would cap off another great season for the legendary gunslinger and then we have to wait and see whether or not he’ll comeback for another year at 41? Brady is already going to the Hall of Fame and he has a family at home that he has to look out for. How long can his motivation compel him to play at such a high level?
