The Los Angeles Rams had a better roster in 2018. They were better in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Ndamukong Suh was still around and there’s a reason that roster was able to make it to the Super Bowl. Now the Rams are a little bit watered down but Jared Goff can be the savior.
After a tough rookie season Goff has reeled it in with back-to-back years of over a 100 quarterback rating. Those are big numbers from the former 1st overall pick and don’t let anyone tell you it’s just because Sean McVay is Goff’s coach. The 24 year old gunslinger is bailing out McVay just as much as the x and os are helping this offense. Having a great scheme and McVay’s creativity gives Los Angeles a leg up but they still need good players to execute the game plan. Jared Goff is the ideal guy to have under center and it’s because he’s a pure pocket passer. There’s plenty of better athletes who play QB but Goff can consistently win with his arm talent. He’s coming off 32 touchdowns and a top 5 ranking in passing yards (4,688). Everyone blamed Goff for struggling against New England in Super Bowl LIII. As if Goff wasn’t one of the main reasons they got there in the first place. Keep in mind Todd Gurley was banged up and this passing attack was still able to throw for more yards than Drew Brees in the NFC Championship game. Everyone will always compare Carson Wentz and Goff but there’s no doubt about who’s the better leader. While Wentz has been labeled as someone who is arrogant. Jared Goff has a laid back demeanor and he’s always having fun. By keeping everything light it relaxes his teammates. Don’t undervalue the impact that can have for the Rams.

The Los Angeles Rams are a worse team than a year ago but Jared Goff could be even better.
