The Chicago Bears are known for their defense. But last year Allen Robinson was the best player on the Bears roster. This comes three-years after he tore his ACL while playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars. So it’s been a long road back for Robinson and he’s finally looking like himself again. His explosiveness has returned and you can see that in Robinson’s route running. He’s mastered the back-shoulder fade and most of his production came on those plays.
The other area of the field he did really well in is over the middle on slants and crossing routes. So many times Robinson was wide open just deeper than the linebackers’ hook zones. Part of the reason why is because he knows how to use hesitations to get open. Which helped Robinson beat a lot of defenders. When you combine all of these skills with his sure hands it made for an amazing comeback story. Everyone thought Chicago’s M.V.P would be Khalil Mack. But Robinson came out of no where and did some serious damage for this offense.
