To be the best player on the defensive side of the ball is a great accomplishment in the National Football League. Aaron Donald was last year’s recipient and he certainly deserved that award. And this year Marcus Peters is making a case for himself after intercepting his former teammate Jared Goff and helping the Baltimore Ravens dismantle the Los Angeles Rams 45-6. Peters is up to 5 interceptions for the season and he’s done a remarkable job after being traded. Clearly he’s motivated because LA chose to cast him off.

No one likes to be overlooked and now Peters is channeling that negativity and using it to fuel him. At the minimum he’s positioned himself in the hunt for D.P.O.Y so now it’s about staying hot throughout the remainder of the season. You never know, a couple more pick-sixes could make him a lock and obviously there’s no better feeling than proving your doubters wrong. It just goes to show that sometimes the wrong players get weeded out because Los Angeles went all-in on Jalen Ramsey and then got annihilated by Baltimore. Whereas Peters is having all the fun in the world right now and his team could also win the Super Bowl. So It’s safe to say life is going pretty well for Peters.
