We need to start off by giving the Green Bay Packers defense some love for holding Denver to 16 points in their win over the Broncos. However the offense wasn’t too bad either and Green Bay got a big day from Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Aaron Jones. Valdes-Scantling was Aaron Rodgers’ top receiver in this contest finishing with 99 yards and a touchdown grab.
Teams are doing everything they can to take away Davante Adams and Valdes-Scantling is thriving against single coverage. Collectively this group has much more talent than in the past but they’re also deeper from a weapons standpoint as well. Rodgers finally has the support he needs and the results are showing on the field. Then there was Aaron Jones and he did his part by scoring 2 touchdowns. All of these contributions start to add up and it’s why this offense has the potential to consistently score 30 points per game. That’s the next step and then in the off-season we could see them add even more pieces and turn into a juggernaut. Kansas City did this same exact thing from last year until now. First it’s about laying a foundation and then getting a couple more playmakers later on. At least the Packers are heading in the right direction, they’re still undefeated.
