The Detroit Lions have a new owner. Martha Firestone Ford has stepped down and that’s paved the way for her daughter Sheila Ford Hamp to take over the team. This is an exciting move for Detroit because Ford Hamp will try to reinvigorate the Lions. She’s been around the team for a very long time. Her father the late William Clay Ford actually purchase this franchise six decades ago. So the Lions mean a lot to Ford Hamp and she said “nobody wants to win more than her family.” With how much Detroit has struggled this new beginning could be exactly what they need. Anytime a team has new ownership they take on the mindset and beliefs of the person in charge. So this could be a step in the right direction for the Lions.
