This past off-season the New York Giants, Carolina Panthers, and Cleveland Browns all hired new head coaches. And those three teams have combined for only one win. Meanwhile down at Mississippi State. Mike Leach is on the verge of doing something special. Leach just had his first game with the Bulldogs and he was able to knock off the defending national champions (LSU Tigers). For the longest time the NFL has undervalued Leach and it’s clear their assessment of him has been way off. Mississippi State doesn’t do nearly as well at recruiting as LSU does. They don’t have as many resources or the great facilities either. But one thing the Bulldogs do have is one of the brightest football minds in the world. Leach’s offensive game plan helped K.J Costello throw for 623 yards and 5 touchdowns in his very first game with his new coach. So If you’re an NFL team that is hoping to rebuild their program. One of the first places to look should be in Starkville. To be honest it’s a shame it’s taken this long. Leach deserved his shot at the NFL a long time ago.
