To say the New England Patriots are an explosive football team would be a complete understatement. New England rolled the Tennessee Titans 35-14 in the AFC divisional game and really this wasn’t much of a contest at all. Tom Brady was extremely efficient throwing for 337 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions. That extra gear that Brady brings to the table was coincidentally the reason New England was able to beat out Tennessee. Brandon Bolden and James White both rushed for Patriots’ touchdowns. Dion Lewis was also able to contribute 62 rushing yards on the ground. Danny Amendola hauled in 112 yards for Bill Belichick’s passing game. Rob Gronkowski, James White, and Chris Hogan all caught touchdowns for the New England offense as well. Marcus Mariota continued to play well in the postseason throwing for 254 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Corey Davis was the most notable playmaker for Tennessee he hauled in 63 yards and 2 touchdown receptions. As far as both defenses go the Patriots had a great night recording 8 sacks. Deatrich Wise and Geneo Grissom were at the forefront of that success each recording 2 sacks. Trey Flowers, Marquis Flowers, Adam Butler, and Ricky Jean Francois all sacked Mariota at some point in the game too. Logan Ryan led Tennessee in tackles he had 12 for the night. Kevin Byard also played well he had 10 tackles in the losing effort. New England advances to their 7th straight AFC conference game and that speaks volumes about the success they’ve had. This team will play the winner of the Steelers and Jaguars game which should make for an exciting get together. The Patriots will certainly be the favorite in that gridiron battle because this team continues to execute flawlessly. Give credit to everyone on that roster they blocked out the noise and handled business.
