The Jacksonville Jaguars have been having a terrific year and now the other teams in the National Football League have to look out. Jacksonville is the new kid on the block and you know the AFC is nervous about the potential this team has. Usually we expect the Patriots, Steelers, and Chiefs to be the top three teams out of that side of the bracket but it really feels like Jacksonville can shake up the status quo. To be honest it seems like the Steelers are the best team in this whole conference but if Pittsburgh doesn’t play up to their ability or if Mike Tomlin’s team has a few injuries, the Jags can beat them. There’s a lot of reasons why Jacksonville has turned into such a competitor including their top ranked rushing attacking and their number 1 pass defense. Leonard Fournette has been a freak of nature on the ground helping the Jags average 149.9 yards per game. While Jalen Ramsey and A.J Bouye have clamped down as the NFL’s best secondary. All of these young pieces are causing a resurgence in Northeast Florida and it was only a matter of time before this franchise became a powerhouse. The era of the Jaguar seems to be upon us and it’s clear why this team is first in the AFC South division. They have talent on both sides of the ball and suddenly Blake Bortles is hitting his stride. Bortles has thrown for 16 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions so the fourth year QB has done a much better job of taking care of the football in 2017. When you improve in every phase of the game and when you have one of the youngest rosters in all football those are two huge factors. Jacksonville has a very bright future and expect to see some fireworks as the season continues to unfold.
