Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers took on the Baltimore Ravens yesterday and it was an awesome performance for Ron Rivera’s team. Newton led the way with 219 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. The former MVP also rushed for another 52 yards and 1 TD proving that’s he’s just as dynamic as ever and the Panthers are right in the hunt when it comes to the best teams in the NFL. Carolina can beat anyone if their quarterback plays up to his potential and that makes this ball club very dangerous heading in the second half of the season. Los Angeles (Rams) and New Orleans are slightly better but not even those teams want to take on the Panthers in the playoffs. Christian McCaffrey also played well in this win he recorded 2 touchdowns (1 receiving and 1 rushing) showcasing how far he’s come as a player. McCaffrey works so well next to Newton and their chemistry is better than ever. Rookie wide receiver D.J Moore had a good game too putting up 90 receiving yards and that’s something Rivera has to be very pleased with. While Mike Adams and Captain Munnerlyn both intercepted a pass for Carolina’s defense and played a big role in the win. The Ravens weren’t nearly as fortunate. Joe Flacco threw for 192 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. With Baltimore on a two game losing streak you almost have to wonder if it’s time to start Lamar Jackson? The rookie needs to get on the field eventually and he showed some poise against the Panthers. Alex Collins also played well racking up 49 rushing yards and one touchdown. Hayden Hurst and Javorius Allen both found the end zone too but the Ravens were outmatched by a much superior adversary. C.J Mosley had 11 tackles for Baltimore’s defense. Eric Weddle chipped in 6 tackles as well but they couldn’t prevent Cam Newton from dismantling them. The Panthers are a complete team and that’s why they’re 5-2. Expect them to a part of the postseason because they don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
