Take Lamar Jackson away from the Baltimore Ravens and what do you have? The answer is a mediocre football team. There isn’t a ton of talent on the Ravens roster but somehow Jackson continues to find a way to win. For example Baltimore just beat the Seattle Seahawks 30-16 and it was a game in which the Ravens should’ve been outgunned.
However Jackson rushed for 116 yards and 1 touchdown and what that did is put so much pressure on Seattle’s defense. Not only did Pete Carroll have to game plan for Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards on the ground. Carroll also had to devise a scheme to stop Jackson and we know now it didn’t work. The problem is that the Seahawks defense became gassed trying to chase around the Ravens quarterback. Once Seattle got to the second half those defensive linemen and linebackers were huffing and puffing and there wasn’t anything left in the tank. This has been Baltimore’s formula all along and it’s the same reason why they were able to go on a run and make the playoffs last year. With another off-season of game planning you would think some of the defensive coordinators around the league could come up with a strategy to stop Lamar Jackson. However that hasn’t been the case and it’s amazing how much this guy means to the Ravens.

Lamar Jackson fell to the bottom of the first round and it’s clear he was an overlooked draft prospect.
