The Philadelphia Eagles had a tough match up against the Atlanta Falcons especially since Carson Wentz was out of the line up. That didn’t stop the Eagles though they were able to take it to the Falcons for a 15-10 victory. Nick Foles threw for 246 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. While Foles couldn’t throw any touchdowns he definitely played well and that was such a key factor in this win. Jay Ajayi led Philadelphia in rushing with 54 yards, LeGarrette Blount also ran hard chalking up 19 yards and 1 TD. Alshon Jefferey was the top receiver for the Eagles he tallied up 61 receiving yards. Jake Elliott had a big day for Doug Pederson’s kicking game he booted 3 field goals through the uprights. Matt Ryan played good throwing for 210 yards, 1 touchdown, and no interceptions. Atlanta’s offense was a shell of what it was a year ago but the Falcons had some opportunities to win this game. Tevin Coleman was a big reason why he rushed for 79 yards for the day. Julio Jones was also extremely impressive in the loss he went for 101 yards. Devonta Freeman caught a touchdown from Matt Ryan too but there just wasn’t enough plays to pull this one out. The Falcons did have a chance late in the 4th quarter to score the go ahead touchdown. The Eagles defense came up big though and that ended up being all she wrote. Rodney McLeod had the big performance out of all Philly’s defenders. McLeod pieced together 7 tackles and 1 sack. Ronald Darby contributed 7 tackles as well and those guys really set the tone for Jim Scwartz’s defensive unit. On the opposite sideline Robert Alford did all he could with 8 tackles. Ricardo Allen played tough as well he finished the contest with 4 tackles and 1 forced fumble. The Eagles will take on the winner of the Saints and Vikings game. It should make for an interesting NFC Championship because anything can happen this late in the year.
