The silver and black are officially back. The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-0 after defeating the New Orleans Saints 34-24 tonight. Raiders Owner Mark Davis took a big risk when he gave Jon Gruden a 10-year $100M contract. And now Gruden is living up to his end of the deal because he’s delivering results on the field. He was the better coach against Sean Payton and the Saints. Gruden did a great job of building his game plan around Darren Waller. New Orleans couldn’t contain Las Vegas’ explosive tight end. Waller kept getting separation and that was the matchup Gruden kept looking for. Derek Carr also played better than Drew Brees in this contest. So the Raiders’ offensive execution is firing on all cylinders. And Gruden deserves a lot of praise for that. People weren’t sure how things would work out for this team when they traded away Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper. But now we’re starting to see Gruden’s vision. He could foresee this even when everyone else was knocking him.
