Rob Gronkowski is in his 8th season of pro football and the veteran tight end is firing on all cylinders after seven games. Gronkowski has amassed 509 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns this year and that has set the tone for the Patriots receivers. Last year this offense had to get the job done without Rob Gronkowski on the field, New England went on to win a Super Bowl somehow but this time around Julian Edelman is sidelined for the remainder of the season. In Edelman’s absence Gronkowski has really raised the bar with his own level of play especially since he is returning from major back issues. Still though you have to give Rob Gronkowski all the credit in the world for being an x factor for Bill Belichick’s team someone had to step up to keep this team afloat and Gronkowski has certainly answered that call. New England currently boasts a 6-2 record and seem to be hitting their stride at the perfect time. That’s great news for this team because they struggled out of the gate going 2-2 over their first four games. Since then though things have really started to smooth out and now the Patriots will be a contender to win it all when the postseason rolls around. As long as Gronkowski is healthy there’s no doubt New England’s offense will have a threat that strikes fear in opposing secondary players. It’s because Gronk is such a match up nightmare he is too fast for linebackers and too big for defensive backs. When you also factor in the chemistry and cohesion Tom Brady and Gronkowski have it because obvious that the 4x pro bowl tight end is going to be the focal point moving forward. Brady knows he can trust Gronk when the pressure is on and that’s why we’ve seen such success for the 28 year old so far.
