When the Arizona Cardinals selected Robert Nkemdiche in the 1st round of the 2016 Draft there were some critics who had concerns about Nkemdicheโs character. The Arizona Cardinals saw something different though, they saw a player who had a big personality and was a highly competitive football player. That gamble and willing to bet on Nkemdiche as a football player seems to have paid off for the Arizona Cardinals. Nkemdiche was an absolute monster at rookie camp often beating double teams and pressuring the quarterback. Nkemdiche will help bolster the Cardinals defense along with new comer Chandler Jones. If the Cardinals can get Dwight Freeney back in the mix as well, the Cardinals could be one of the best pass rushing teams in football. Defense wins championships and you have to think that Cardinals have made enough moves to advance another round in the playoffs. Having Nkemdicheโs production on the defensive line will certainly help and you have to remember this is a guy who put up 28 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press at the combine. So he can overwhelm opposing offensive lineman and consistently put pressure on the quarterback. That is the reason why he played himself into the first round of the 2016 Draft and also why the Cardinals thought there was enough upside to take a shot on the former Rebel defensive lineman. Bruce Arians does a terrific job of mentoring and looking over the younger players on the Cardinals roster. That is a big reason why Nkemdiche and the Cardinals are such a great fit for each other and they should mesh well in 2016. There are a lot of people around the Arizona Cardinals training camp facility right now who think the Cardinals got it right with this draft pick and football fans should excited to see Nkemdicheโs story play out.
