The Seattle Seahawks are cleaning house and it all started with Michael Bennett being shipped out to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 5th round pick and an undisclosed player. Bennett will be a great addition for the Eagles especially since that defensive line was already outstanding. With players like Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Timmy Jernigan, Derek Barnett, and Chris Long Bennett should fit into that group nicely. That’s going to allow Philly to have even more fire power in 2018 and now it’s very possible this team can repeat as Super Bowl champions. There’s so much talent on the Eagles roster collectively that they can outgun a lot of opponents before even stepping on the field. Bennett should also be reinvigorated from the new environment so all the signs point to the veteran having a bright future. On Seattle’s end of the deal it seems like they might have got the short end of the stick unless that undisclosed player ends up being significant. A 5th round pick is certainly not enough to exchange for Michael Bennett but we know Pete Carroll wanted to fix his locker room morale. That compelled Seattle to part ways with the veteran defensive lineman and if there was any positive from this trade it’s that Bennett was getting up there in age (which leads to a decline of play). That’s not the only news coming out of the Emerald City either. Richard Sherman has told his teammates that he won’t return for the 2018 season. That means the Seahawks will likely trade their top cornerback as well. The early indication is the Chicago Bears are the front-runner to land Sherman. However it was also reported that the Falcons were going to end up with Michael Bennett so really anything can end up happening.
