Russell Wilson is an exceptional quarterback. Every year he gives Seattle a chance to compete and he put it all together against the Los Angeles Rams. The Seahawks won this game 30-29 and Wilson stole the show by throwing for 4 touchdowns, 268 yards, and no interceptions.
Perhaps the most entertaining part of Wilson’s game is his ability to extend the play with his feet. He always seems to escape the pass rush and find an open receiver downfield. Defensive backs can’t cover for that long and the Seahawks have been playing this adjust on the fly style of football since Wilson arrived in Seattle back in 2012. So guys like Tyler Lockett understand how to work back towards Wilson and create plays for this offense. We also have to take into account how good Wilson is at scrambling for first downs. Those are plays that keep drives alive and tilt the odds in the Seahawks favor. Los Angeles had trouble containing those abilities and it’s the reason they weren’t able to pull out the win. It was close though and the Rams actually had a chance to win the game on a late 4th quarter field goal attempt by Greg Zuerlein. However Zuerlein missed that kick and Wilson’s big night was what stands out the most in this victory.
