Should the Chiefs think about starting Jerick McKinnon at running back?

Author: Jon Kuzma

The Chiefs might have to start Jerick McKinnon at running back. I like him in the backfield. There’s just too much speed on the field when McKinnon plays. Tyreek Hill, MeCole Hardman, and McKinnon. What you’re doing is turning speed into a philosophy. You’re going to get your playmakers the ball in space. And you’re going to turn every game into a track meet. You could see that in the Chiefs win over the Broncos. And Hill wasn’t even healthy in this game. One of the big reasons McKinnon is such a good fit for the Chiefs. Is because they like to spread everything out and play a wide open style of play. And McKinnon is so good on swing passes. It feels like he’s a little bit faster than the rest of the Chiefs running backs. That’s a weapon Kansas City can’t ignore. Put all the fastest players this team has in the game. And make defenses try to run stride-for-stride with all these guys. We know that will be very tough to do
