Too much roster turnover can be a bad thing especially when you’re the reigning Super Bowl champion. You don’t want to have a max exodus after achieving such a great feat. And luckily for the Kansas City Chiefs they were able to retain just about everyone from last year’s team. Perhaps the biggest piece was franchise tagging Chris Jones.
The other player that Andy Reid didn’t want to see leave was Sammy Watkins. The Chiefs were able to hold on to both of those guys. What that does is give this team an opportunity to go back-to-back. Kansas City had a much better off-season than the San Francisco 49ers did. So this is still the team to beat in the National Football League. It clearly says something about the people who are running this organization and the culture they’ve built. The players all seem to enjoy the environment their in. And re-signing Watkins is a good move because it ensures that Patrick Mahomes is surrounded with talent. Watkins actually started off the 2019 season red hot. Which proves he’s a good fit in that offense. Collectively this team has it all and that’s why we could be witnessing the start of a dynasty.
