A good rushing attack can go a long way. Last year Sony Michel got hot in the playoffs and helped the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl. And last night against the New York Jets Michel caught fire again and carved up Gregg Williams’ defense in a 33-0 onslaught. Michel recorded 3 touchdowns before the night was over and the Patriots imposed their will on a lackluster Jets team. This wasn’t even a game and you knew it was over before halftime. For Michel most of his touches came down on the goal line and he made the most out of those opportunities.

Those plays can be the difference between winning and losing games because you don’t want to settle for field goals. Could New England win this game without Michel’s big night? Yes but against tougher opponents you need a powerful runner who can score touchdowns. Right now this is a great sign for the Patriots because Michel is starting to find his rhythm at the perfect time. Clearly Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels are doing everything they can to get Michel involved and put their grand plan in motion. So you can expect the former 1st round pick (Michel) to have a larger role heading forward. Oh yeah by the way New England is 7-0 and it’s starting to feel like they’re good enough to go undefeated. Very few people would be surprised if that were to happen.
