The Texans released J.J Watt today to free up some of their cap space. Watt had spent his entire 10-year career in Houston. But now the future Hall of Famer will have to find a new team. The two obvious fits for Watt are the Steelers and Packers. Pittsburgh seems like the top landing spot because his two brothers T.J Watt and Derek Watt are on the team. So J.J Watt will probably take a pay cut to make that situation a reality. The other team that makes sense is the Packers. Watt was born is Wisconsin and still lives in Pewaukee. So the thought of suiting up for the Packers has to be appealing to Watt. Obviously Green Bay is closer to winning a Super Bowl. Therefore that’s another selling point. But the challenge for each of these teams will be finding the cap space to sign Watt. Pittsburgh and Green Bay are both in the red right now when it comes to their cap space. A hurdle these teams will have to clear if they want to strike a deal.
