The Steelers sound like they’re ready for a fresh start at quarterback:

Author: Jon Kuzma

You can see the the writing on the wall. The Steelers can’t afford to bring Ben Roethlisberger back. This isn’t a strike against Roethlisberger. He’s been great throughout his career. The problem is on the business side of things. We see it all the time in sports. A guy will sign a huge contract. Then later on down the line that same player is a cap causality because he earns too much. It’s playing out in Pittsburgh right before our eyes. And you have to feel horrible for Roethlisberger. It’s not like he’s washed up either. Big Ben threw for 33 touchdowns this past season. Quarterbacks like that don’t grow on trees. Yet Roethlisberger could be pushed out anyway. The Steelers appear to be ready to get younger.
